Great stay at a smaller high quality hotel

The rooms were a delight! As was the staff who were very welcoming and attentive to our needs. The food was also quite exceptional although too much at times - you will not be hungry. The public onsen was worth a dip. They provided a loft to Gora station.

Some people may want a traditional shower; there is one but it is part of the private bath cleaning station. We leaned into it.

Exceeded every expectation! Room rate was high but it worths!

Excellent bed, excellent view, excellent food, excellent hot spring, excellent service, excellent everything!

Hotel has tried hard to serve international guests who speak English but not Japanese. Check-in was even done with westerner staff, and I was surprised. Keiseki dinner menu was partially translated into English. However, the English standard and accent by Japanese staff is still Japanese level. Be prepared for that.

Unforgettable !!!

Love the room and the private onsen. Staff were courteous and helpful. Very good English too. The waitress are attentive to our needs! Wish to come back again!

Very hard to book, sold out on most seasons ! Book early! It is costly but worth the experience.

The service was exceptional and the facilities were very well maintained. We really enjoyed the large onsen as well as the delicious meals. They also had a pick-up/drop off service to gora station which made commuting much easier. It was a great stay!

Everything was wonderful and we would not hesitate to go back. The room and amenities was great, especially the in-room onsen bath. Every meal was excellent and the staff were on top of things and helpful. It was a wonderful experience.

Best accom and dining experience of our lives to date - absolutely worth a visit.

Dinner and breakfast was amazing - close to best dining experience we’ve ever had. Our room was spectacular, including our very private outlook and balcony onsen. Instantly relaxed upon arrival, with exceptional service throughout our stay. Would have stayed a week if we could!

Lovely resort with in-room onsen

Great stay and service. We really appreciated how well they treated the vegetarians in our group. Japanese food is typically not vegetarian friendly but here the chefs went out of their way to prepare delicious vegetarian (no fish broth!) kaiseki meals for us. In some of the courses, the veg options were even better than the non-veg ones.

The property is close to some amazing hikes and trails, but they didn't really provide any suggestions or ideas. I think most guests either stay at the resorts itself or explore by car.

A beautiful ryokan with lovely view, good food, great staff and a beautiful private onsen

Staff is so courteous and polite. Everyone would greet you even when you walked past them. An absolutely great experience with onsen and Keiseki meals. Everything is well organised for you before your arrival. Planning in this accommodation is meticulous. Our room is Comfort Premium Suite on the 3rd floor which has a great view of the mountains and feel very private. The location is quite far from Gora Station but the ryokan offers shuttle bus service. Their service is prompt and punctual.

The first day breakfast was mainly Japanese with a lot of salty preserved vegetables to go with rice. A bit too much of carbs and not enough protein. The second day breakfast has more varieties which is more enjoyable.
